Chelsea look to Roma star in £20m swoop after missing out on Falcao

Sources close to have revealed that they are ready to bring in a group of new players as they prepare a fresh Premier League title bid.

It has been speculated that Chelsea are ready to make a £10million bid for Southampton youngers Luke Shaw, whilst offering them to take him back on loan for a season.

Chelsea are hoping to bring in the young left-back in order to replace Ashley Cole as will be approaching 34 come the end of the 2014 season, and they see Shaw as the ideal replacement.

The 17-year-old was ever present throughout the whole of the Saints’ season, and is a product of the same academy system that brought through the likes of Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The newest starlet to emerge from Southampton appeals to the Blue as they are desperate to freshen up their squad following a disappointing season, which saw them finish in 3rd.

Interim manager Rafa Benitez will leave the club in June as he has already agreed a two-year deal with Italian club Napoli.

The spending at Chelsea will continue as they are also eyeing up a move for Everton playmaker Marouane Fellaini, however sources have revealed that he is keeping his heart on a move to Manchester United, following the foot steps of his former manager David Moyes.

Meanwhile, as the club look set to miss out on Radamel Falcao as he is nearing a move to Monaco, they have decided to turn their attention to Roma’s star man Miralem Pjanic, who is also being watched by Chelsea’s rivals, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

However Chelsea will be determined not to miss out on another player.

The Bosnian international is set to be valued at around £20million following two impressive seasons at Roma since his £9million move from Lyon in August 2011.

Another target for Chelsea is Galatasary’s Turkish front man Burak Yilmaz, who played a massive part in helping them reach the Quarter-finals of this seasons Champions League, where they were eventually knocked out by Real Madrid.

Chelsea have already made an enquiry about the Turkey international’s availability, and it is believed that he too is valued at around £20million. However Chelsea are considering offering Romelu Lukaku as part of the deal on a one year loan.

The 27-year-old impressed Europe’s finest this season as he managed to score 8 goals in the Champions League, whilst scoring 24 goals for the Turkish Champions.

The Blues were extremely confident of tying up a deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s winger Andreas Schurrle, as he had originally agreed terms with Chelsea, however the deal seems to have stalled as Leverkusen are now asking for Kevin De Bruyne on loan for a season as part of the deal.

Although Chelsea are now in a dilemma as Borussia Dortmund have to asked for Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku on loan if they are to make a bid for their front man Robert Lewandowski.
