Chelsea set to offer Lukaku in deal to capture Lewandoski

Manchester City and Chelsea target Radamel Falcao is ready to snub a chance to come to the Premier League to join French club Monaco, with a move to the emerging French giants imminent after a medical yesterday.

Sources have revealed that the Ligue 1 club has won the race for the Colombian star, as he is set to become their 3rd big signing of the transfer window already.

Monaco recently signed Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez from Porto for a combined total of £60million.

This will come as a major blow for both clubs as the two Premier League rivals are desperate for new strikers following their disappointing seasons.

Monaco are rumored to also be interested in Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, therefore it was expected that Tevez was to join Monaco and Falcao to Manchester City,

It was recently announced that Falcao was not looking to leave Atletico Madrid, as he was ready to honour his contract at the club, which keeps him there until 2016.

Atletico Madrid are rumored to be after around £52million, whilst rivals Real Madrid have been put off making a move for the player as there is a clause in the players contract stating that they must pay an extra £13million that any other club.

Earlier this week, Monaco’s assistant manager Jean Petit announced that he was confident that the club were on the brink of signing the 27-year-old, along with “four or five other players.”

Monaco were recently promoted to the French top league, and with the backing of new rich owners, they are ready to take the world by storm and follow in rivals Paris Saint Germain’s footsteps by bringing in some massive names to Ligue 1.

Chelsea are tracking a number of strikers, with Jose Mourinho’s return rumoured to be close. This will appeal to some of the biggest names in football, with Luka Modric linked with a £30million move to Stamford Bridge.

Falcao scored 35 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions in the 2012/2013 season and would gap left by former Chelsea favourite Didier Drogba.

Chelsea have lacked an out and out goal scorer since the departure of Drogba and would have relished the chance of bringing Falcao to England, however the deal is rumored to be almost complete.

This is just the beginning of a series of bad news for Chelsea, as a possible deal for Robert Lewandowski has been thrown in to doubt as Bayern Munich are now favourites to sign the Polish striker.

Although sources have revealed that Chelsea do stand a chance of bringing Lewandowski to Stamford Bridge, as Romelu Lukaku recently announced that a loan move to Borussia Dortmund appeals to him.

Dortmund will now favour a deal with Chelsea, as they would rather sell him to the English club rather than their German rivals however they are also asking for Kevin De Bruyne on loan.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho will hope to be able to lure the likes of Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo to the club in order to spark their Premier League title bid next season.
