Chelsea have lined up a sensational swap deal that would see highly rated Stephen El Shaarawy move to Stamford Bridge with Fernando Torres making a move to AC Milan.
Jose Mourinho is keen to add a world class centre forward to his ranks and has been linked with Edinson Cavani and Robert Lewandowski however according to reports to Italian source Sport Mediaset El Shaarawy has now emerged as a serious target for the London side.
The 20 year old striker scored 19 goals last season for Milan and has been linked with a move to Manchester City.
The highly rated striker is already a full International for Italy and is being tipped for big things.
AC Milan would loathe losing El Shaarawy but the loss would be softened should Mourinho throw Torres into the deal.
The £50 million man has struggled since moving to Stamford Bridge although he enjoyed a slight upturn in form last season scoring 22 goals in all competitions as Chelsea won the Europa League.
He also recently claimed the golden boot at the confederation cup as Spain lost out to Brazil in the final.
Despite his return to goal scoring form Mourinho remains unconvinced as to his ability to lead the Chelsea line recently saying that Torres would need to improve next season. The latest round of rumours surrounding Torres suggests that he may not get that chance with Mourinho ready to cut his losses on the 29 year old.
Ironically Napoli has also been linked with Torres but with Chelsea struggling to negotiate for the transfer of Cavani a deal with Milan might be more forthcoming.
Cavani is Chelsea’s number one target but Napoli holding out for £52 million and Chelsea only offering £41 million so far a deal is far from being completed.
It is believed however that talks are continuing with officials from both clubs set to meet again this week.
