Southampton v Everton Odds : Toffees look big price for away win as Martinez looks to Champions League

Everton will look to move back into fourth place in the Premier League when they travel to the South Coast to face Southampton, as their price of 6/4 looks well worth a look.

With the Gunners not in action until Monday night the Toffee’s have the chance to exert some pressure on their rivals not to mention building on last weekend’s impressive performance against Manchester United.

Roberto Martinez’s side beat the Red Devils 2-0 on Sunday to claim a league double over the reigning Premier League champions and add another highlight to a memorable season.

With three games of the season remaining there is still plenty to play for and Martinez will want his troops to maintain their standards against the 8th place Saints, especially as on paper Arsenal have the easier run-in.

However Everton have a poor record at St Mary’s with just one win in their last 12 games away to Southampton and will hope that with Mauricio Pochettino’s men winding down for the season, as evidenced in a run of just one win from five, their weekend hosts are in generous mood.

Should Everton succeed in their quest to garner three points they will their win fourth game on the trot something that has not been achieved since 1985.

But they will have to do so with last weekend’s hero Kevin Mirallas. The Belgian star injured his groin against United and is out for the rest of the season. So too is Lacina Traore. The on-loan Monaco star has struggled with hamstring injuries since his arrival and has failed to make an impact.

Sylvain Distin is also out with a hamstring injury meaning that two from John Stones, Phil Jagielka and Antolin Alcaraz will start in the middle of defence.

The French star is currently being assessed by the club amid fears that could miss the rest of the season. The veteran defender has been an inspiration at the back for the club this season making 31 appearances and his absence would be a big blow.

The hosts meanwhile will be without Jay Rodriquez for the clash.
