The old boy’s reunion at Everton looks set to continue with new manager Roberto Martinez looking to sign Chelsea midfielder Victor Moses in an £8 million deal.
With Arouna Kone, Antolin Alcaraz and Joel Robles already signed up Martinez is keen to add to the familiar faces at Goodison Park with a move for the Nigerian International.
The former Wigan manager signed the winger for £2.5m in 2010 and his form for the Latics saw the former England Under-21 International secure a move to Chelsea in August 2012.
The 22 year old has struggled to win a regular starting place in the star-studded starting 11 and has mainly being a bit part player last season. In total he made 12 Premier League starts, with 11 more coming from the bench and scored 1 goal. His greatest impact came in the Europa League with 4 goals from 5 starts as he helped the club secure the cup and he finished the season in double figures for goals in all competitions.
The arrival of Jose Mourinho at Chelsea has cast the future of Moses into doubt with the Portuguese manager ready to offload the winger after only 12 months in London. That has prompted Everton to renew their interest in the player with the club believing they can secure his signature without too much difficulty especially as Moses would be keen to work once again with the manager that brought out the best in him.
Martinez meanwhile is also gearing up for the loss of Marouane Fellaini with a move for Paris Saint Germain star Clement Chantome.
According to reports in RMC Sport, the Toffee’s are keen on the 25 year and are ready to offer £10 million to secure his signature.
Chantome has spent his entire career to date with PSG having made his debut back in the 2006/2007 season. He has since played 162 leagues games for the club scoring 5 goals. Last season he made 28 league appearances, including 16 starts, scoring 1 to help the club to their first title in 19 years.
His form for the Parisians saw him rewarded with a first French cap in the friendly with Japan in October 2012 however he has failed to earn a subsequent call up.
Chantome has two years left on his contract with PSG but Martinez is hopeful of striking a deal to bring the midfielder to Liverpool as a replacement for Arsenal target Fellaini.
Belgian International is keen to move on this summer to play Champions League football and is hoping that Arsenal will meet his release clause of £22 million to open discussions.
