Scotland played some impressive football against the Georgians, proclaiming stand in skipper Scott Brown to declare that the country had regained its self-belief.

“We’re getting the belief back, we’re looking strong and we got the three points, which is the main thing” the Celtic midfielder said.

“We have got to take every positive we can from it. We created chances and could have been three up at half-time. We defended really well and were solid all the way through.

“They didn’t even have a shot on target, so it tells you how well we defended.”

scotland-liveBrown, along with debutant Scott Robertson, were amongst Scotland best performers on the day and the pair will hope they can kick on against a dangerous Poland side.

Poland claimed a first ever win over Germany in Warsaw at the weekend, at the 19th time of asking, ensuring that confidence will be high in their camp. Goals from Arkadiusz Milik and substitute Sebastian Mila ensured that the majority of a sell-out crowd of 56,934 went home happy and also moved the country top of the group on goal difference over Ireland.

The two club’s last met in March when Scotland won 1-0 however on that occasion Adam Nawalka was without Robert Lewandsowki. The Bayern Munich man is set to be involved on Tuesday however ensuring that the Scotland defence will be under pressure.

The weekend results should ensure that there are little changes in either manager’s starting XI for the clash.
