Tito Martino’s side have been in fantastic form this season winning 14, drawing 1 and losing just one of their opening 16 games although with Atletico Madrid going toe to toe Barcelona have been unable to break away.

The club bounced back from their 1-0 win to Athletic Bilbao in match day 15 to beat Villareal 2-1 last time out in the league.

That result was followed up by a comfortable 3-0 win over Cartagena in a game that saw Neymar grab his sixth goal in three games.

Unfortunately for Barcelona the Brazilian forward picked up a booking in the clash with Villarreal and is ruled out of Sunday’s clash.

With Lionel Messi still out injured the onus will fall on Pedro and Alexis Sanchez to provide the spark up front.

The pair has managed 15 league goals between this season and Martino maintains that his side will cope without their star men.

We will miss him (Neymar). He has settled in really well at the club and he is already very popular,” the Argentine manager said.

“But we have other forwards who can cause problems for Getafe.”

The Catalan side will once again be without Victor Valdes in goal while Dani Alves, Gerard Pigue and Xavi will be assessed before the game to determine whether they will play or not.

Getafe meanwhile currently sit 8th in the table and have lost three of their last five league games, including 7-0 loss away to Atletico Madrid.

Last time out they lost 1-0 to Malaga but despite their poor form club President Angel Torres believes it is the perfect time to taking on the defending Spanish Champions.

“Let’s see if we can get them this time, it’s a good moment for it,” Torres said.

“Messi is the best player in the world and Neymar is coming into good form, but it must be said that they have plenty of backup. We will have to play at 150 per cent on Sunday.

“We will have a go. We did it in 2007 (when beating Barca 2-0) and we will give it the best possible shot.”

Getafe will be boosted by the return of Borja Fernandez following suspension.
