Two goals from Lionel Messi sealed the club’s place in the quarter-final with the only blot on the copybook an ankle injury sustained by Brazilian forward Neymar.

The striker faces a spell out of action but fears over a long-term absence have been allayed by Barca manager Tata Martino.

“The situation didn’t look good when you saw it happen and you thought he might be out for a while but thank God it is not as serious as it appeared and he’ll be back playing soon,” the Argentine coach said.

“The doctors after the game have said it is not so bad and so if tests confirm it then it is not something serious.”

The loss of Neymar will no doubt be a blow but with Messi firing on all cylinders Martino will be relaxed ahead of the trip to mid-table Levante.

The Argentine forward has scored 4 goals in three games after almost 2 months out and is getting sharper by the game, a fact confirmed by his manager

“He’s been taking it little-by-little and he’s feeling better. He just needed some playing time after being out 60 days.” Martino added.

Barcelona have won three of their last five games and with Atletico level on points and Real Madrid just three points behind there is no room for slip ups.

Barcelona won 7-0 when the two club’s met in August and with Levante winning just six of their 19 games to date the leaders will be confident of repeating their 4-0 win at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia last season.

The two clubs will meet again on Tuesday when they clash in the quarter-final of the Cope Del Rey.
