Steve Bruce’s men will face a sterner challenge this weekend as they travel to London to take on free scoring Fulham. The Cottagers are 19th in the table but have earned the title of great entertainers with the club the 2nd top scorers in the league, after Hull, and the divisions’ joint second worse defenders.

With third place Derby not in action until Monday when they take on fourth place Burnley, Brighton will have a chance to climb into third.

The Seagulls bounced back from three straight defeats last time out with a 1-0 win over Blackburn and will hope to make it two on the trot against a Huddersfield side unbeaten in five.

Sixth place Sheffield Wednesday, level on points with Ipswich, can’t afford any slip-ups when they face Reading. Just five points separates the Owls from 9th place Cardiff while a defeat in Berkshire could see the club drop to 8th.

Ipswich will be out to bounce back from their FA cup exit to league two outfit Portsmouth when they take on Birmingham while Cardiff welcome fourth from bottom Rotherham to Wales.

Elsewhere basement side Bolton take on the MK Dons in a crucial six-pointer, Charlton host Blackburn, Brentford travel to face Preston while Leeds are against Bristol City.
