Napoli will be looking to regain top spot in Serie A when they welcome AC Milan to the Stadio San Paolo in Monday’s high-profile clash.
The Naples outfit has seen their position at the top overtaken by Juventus in recent weeks however with the Turin outfit drawing 0-0 with Bologna at the weekend Maurizio Sarri’s side can return to the summit with a win.
Confidence will be low however in the Napoli camp following back to back 1-0 defeats. A 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the league last time out was followed up by another 1-0 defeat, this to Villarreal in the Europa league.
Despite the recent setbacks, Sarri is happy with his side and not too concerned going into the clash with Milan.
“Despite suffering back-to-back defeats we are not worried because we stood tall against Juve and Villarreal. I would be less happy if we’d been involved in two goalless draws having not played our best football” Sarri told sscnapoli.com.
“I would not hesitate even for a minute to say that I wouldn’t change anything that I’ve done. Because we’ve had four games in the space of a few days we have not had the energy levels that other teams have enjoyed recently. I’m happy with how the team are playing and I would make the same choices all over again.
Napoli have no major injury worries for the game with the only absentee, midfielder Alberto Grassi.
Milan, 6th in the table, meanwhile will be without Philippe Mexes, Rodrigo Ely, Jose Mauri and Luiz Adriano however forward Jeremy Menez is set to make his first start of the season after appearing as a substitute against Genoa last weekend.
