In a rather interesting piece of news, English Premier League under achievers Liverpool FC, have joined the race with bitter rivals Manchester United in a bid to sign Brazil international, Roberto Firmino.
The playmaker is currently under contract with Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim but has already declared his interest in playing Premier League football next season. Reports claim that the player may have already agreed personal terms with Louis van Gaal’s side but despite this, Brendan Rodgers has also chosen to try and steal away the Red Devils’ target.
According to reports, the Liverpool tactician has asked the club’s management to help him sign the Brazilian but it appears that the club is way out of its depth in this regard considering the fact that Firmino wants to play in the Champions League and that is something the club cannot offer.
And after missing out on so many players already, one can feel the desperation in the club’s attempt to lure a big name player.
