The England international is clearly delighted to see the club secure the services of the young full back from Southampton and has tipped him for a great career ahead of him.
Both men played together at Southampton FC a few years back and Lallana, who arrived at Anfield last summer, is confident in the abilities of Clyne, revealing that he did convince the youngster into signing for the Merseyside giants despite a lot of interest from Manchester United.
Speaking to journalists, the midfielder said that Clyne is a really important signing for the club and is now looking forward to preseason.
‘It’s a massive signing for us,’ Lallana said. ‘I played with him for a couple of seasons at Southampton and since they signed him, he’s come on a lot.
‘I’ve spoken to him and I was actually on holiday with him for a little bit this summer – we were in America together. I managed to speak to him about it there and I kind of knew it could be on the cards. His intentions were there and he was hoping the deal could get sorted.’
