The legendary Liverpool midfielder says that he cannot wait to kick start his career in the MLS as he looks to make his debut for LA Galaxy
After closing curtains on a 17 year spell at Liverpool, former England international, Steven Gerrard left Anfield to sign for LA Galaxy on a lucrative long term deal. And now, the midfielder is really looking forward to playing his first game for the LA giants as they take on Mexican giants, Club America.
The 35-year-old midfielder has faced a whirlwind week of media obligations since being officially unveiled at half-time of last weekend’s 4-0 home victory over Toronto FC but he is now eager to do get down to business against the Mexican giants.
The former Liverpool captain said: “I’ve been excited since day one. I’ve been waiting for this moment, and it was quite frustrating watching the team against Toronto. I was pleased with the win but I was itching to join the boys.
Continuing on his first week of training with his new teammates, he added: “I’m getting to know the players very well. They’re getting to know me. I’ve been watching the game for afar for some time as well.
“There are a lot of good players here, and good players adapt quickly. I’m looking forward to seeing the connections blossom.”
