Mario Balotelli advised to join Sampdoria

The Italy international clearly has no future at Liverpool and the Italian side’s president, Massimo Ferrero has asked the striker to join his side

The former AC Milan striker cut a forlorn and frustrated figure at Anfield last season and it appeared that he had lost his appetite for the game. And now, the player has been constantly linked with a return to Italian football where there are very few clubs who are willing to take their chances on him.

However, Sampdoria are willing to give the controversial Italian another chance with the president suggesting that the striker should join his team.

“Balotelli is a great player,” Ferrero told reporters. “At Sampdoria he would have the opportunity to relaunch his career in a city where he would have less pressure.

“I like him so much, but I heard he earns €10m-a-year at Liverpool, while here he would have to settle for €1m.”
