Mario Balotelli approached by third division club in Italy

The Italian striker received a rather bizarre offer from Lupa Castelli who play in the third division of Italian football but has refused to sign for them

After scoring just one goal last season in the Premier League for Liverpool, Mario Balotelli clearly has no future at the club and following the arrival of Christian Benteke, the former AC Milan striker could be set to leave the club for good. And even though no concrete offers have arrived so far, eventually the player will be shipped off.

However, an Italian third division club named Lupa Castelli have offered the player a chance at redemption. The club’s president, Marco Amelia, who played with Balotelli during his time at AC Milan, was the man who brought the offer which Balotelli politely refused to take.

Balotelli is reported to have said: “At Milan over two years we had a great rapport of admiration, friendship and respect. Seeing as you are the President of Lupa Castelli, I thank you for the invitation to come and play with you.

“I cannot accept this challenge for many reasons and factors that you know well, taking nothing away from your club. I thank you, I will follow and cheer you on.”
