Liverpool keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain star

According to reports, the Reds are keen on bringing young Lucas Digne to the Anfield this summer with the France international looking for a new challenge

Despite being considered one of the best young left backs in Europe at the moment, Lucas Digne has struggled to get sufficient game time with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain since joining them from Lille OSC a few years back. And now, it appears that the youngster is itching for a move away from Parc des Princes.

Reports claim that Brendan Rodgers is keeping a keen eye on things and could be ready to offer the youngster a chance to play in the Premier League. Digne has already submitted a transfer request and Brendan Rodgers is set to make full use of such a huge opportunity.

Moreover, PSG manager, Laurent Blanc maintains that Digne is not being shown to the door contrary to what the media has been reporting.

“First, it is he who very clearly asked to leave,” he said when asked about the fullback’s future. “For now, he is with us, he is very professional, he trains very well and has prepared excellently. He has shown the results in friendlies,” he continued before playing down any actual interest in letting Digne break rank this summer. “This is firstly a very good thing for him and possibly for us, should he stay with us this season.”

Regardless, Liverpool have their ears perked up and are set to make their move in the coming days.
