Liverpool make move for Asier Illarramendi

Brendan Rodgers is believed to be a huge admirer of the Real Madrid midfielder and is looking to bring the player to England

According to sources in Spain, English Premier League big spenders, Liverpool have recently made an offer for Real Madrid midfielder, Asier Illarramendi but reports claim that a possible transfer depends on Rafael Benitez who might not be willing to let go of the player.

After failing to make a move for Mateo Kovacic, Rodgers is keen to bring the out of favour midfielder to Anfield this summer but the player is himself believed to be keen on staying at the club and believes that his fortunes will change following the arrival of Benitez who sees him as a long term replacement for Xabi Alonso who had left the club last summer for Bayern Munich.

The Reds have already spent 75 million pounds on new recruits so far this summer with the manager looking to bring one more player to the squad before the window closes.
