Official: Liverpool sell Rickie Lambert to West Brom

The Reds have chosen to let go of the England international who really struggled to perform for the team last season

After just one season at his boyhood club, Lambert has been sold to West Bromwich Albion for a fee believed to be in the region of 3 million pounds. Brendan Rodgers brought the striker from Southampton last summer but Lambert was clearly unable to nail down a place in the starting XI and struggled with form and consistency and ended up scoring just twice in the Premier League.

And with the arrival of the likes of Danny Ings, Divock Origi and Christian Benteke, Lambert was never really going to command a place in the starting XI and has thus chosen to leave the club for Tony Pulis’ side where he will get enough game time to kick start his career if he manages to bring consistency to his performance.
