Liverpool’s Tiago Ilori has been struggling to play for his club since his move to the Reds in 2013 but it has not discouraged him at all. He is keen to sway boss Brendan Rodgers for an appearance in the starting XI.
The 22-year-old has been loaned to the Spanish club Granada during the 2013-14 La Liga season and French outfit Bordeaux in the next season. However, the Portuguese is free again and now Premier League rivals Sunderland are keen on bringing him to the Stadium of Light.
The youngster was signed by Sporting Lisbon in his home country but still has to make his way to first team.
After an unsuccessful 2014-15 season he is now planning on convincing Brandan Rodgers with his performance to create space for him in the Reds pecking order.
“I want to play for Liverpool. I don’t want to be in Liverpool just to be sitting around,” he said. “My objective is the same as every other player, we all want to play so everyone’s going to fight for their place.”
