Liverpool keeping tabs on Henrikh Mkhitaryan

According to reports in Spain, the Reds are making the Armenian international one of their top targets as we creep towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool were also chasing the likes of Asier Illarramendi and missed out on Mateo Kovacic this summer and have now been linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder who would certainly add more spark to an already creative midfield.

Having lost Steven Gerrard at the end of last season, extra creativity from the middle of the park could be vital for the club to ease the pressure on main playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Mkhitayan has enjoyed much of the success and fame after signing for Dortmund. However, Liverpool remain hesitant over the lack of adaptability of Bundesliga players in Premier League.

The initial transfer bid is reported at £14.5million which would be a bargain considering the experience the Armenian possess.
