LA Galaxy boss says Steven Gerrard’s reunion with Liverpool is imminent

Bruce Arena, the LA Galaxy boss has tipped Gerrard to return to Liverpool as a manager one day and says that the 35-year-old is already preparing for management.

Gerrard, who joined Liverpool at the age of nine, brought his 26-year association with Anfield to a close at the end of the 2014/2015 Premier League season.

The former England captain seemed destined to retire on Merseyside but decided to take LA Galaxy up on their offer after being offered a bit-part role at Anfield under Brendan Rodgers.

However, Arena believes it is only a matter of time before Gerrard is back at Anfield – this time in the dugout.

‘His next step in the game is to be a manager, no question about it,’ Arena told the Daily Mail.

‘He’s very studios about what goes on. We talk about what he’s done at Liverpool and we compare notes.

‘He’s going to be a manager after he leaves the game as a player. Where that’s going to be, I don’t know.

‘I would love it if someone like that could replace me, but I don’t think it’s going to be with the Galaxy. I guess he’d go back to England and then you can guess where he might end up after that.’
