Sunderland are set to complete the £10 million signing of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.
The Black Cats had accepted an offer on Monday and their former loanee will now undergo a medical on Wearside.
The deal finally brings closure to a year-long pursuit of the Italian, who turned down a £15 million move to the Stadium of Light last summer. But Borini has since fallen way down the pecking order at Anfield and has not appeared at all this season.
The 24 year old scored 10 times for Sunderland during a season long stay two years ago. Hence it will be easier for him to adapt to a new club.
According to the reports Borini’s is also looking forward to this move. Moreover, his arrival Sunderland will help appease boss Dick Advocaat, who fears his team will be relegated without significant investment and his hopes are totally relaying on this deal.
