The hugely popular German replaced the sacked Brendan Rodgers last week and appears tailor-made for the success starved Reds, claiming to deliver a title within four years in his first press conference.

Such a task would appear huge at the moment given the current standing of the club however his success in Germany with Borussia Dortmund makes his claims all the more plausible.

The first job for Klopp will be sort out a strike force that has struggled for goals and a defence that appears to hand them out at will.

He will have to do so without summer signing Joe Gomez. The youngster is out for the season with a knee injury sustained on international duty. The former Charlton defender had impressed at left back this campaign but joins Dejan Lovren, Roberto Firmino, Jon Flanagan and Jordan Henderson in having to wait to impress the new manager.

Phillippe Coutinho will feature this weekend and is likely to be handed a key role by Klopp while Joe Allen and Lucas will also be key to impress.

Christian Benteke is not yet fit after a hamstring injury while in another big blow Danny Ings has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury meaning the fit-again Daniel Sturridge is on the look out for a new strike partner.

Spurs for their part should have Danny Rose, Heung min Son and Ryan Mason fit for the clash. Of the three, Son is the biggest doubt with a foot injury.

The forward has come up against Klopp before from his time in Germany and will be keen to be involved.

Spurs are unbeaten in their last 7 games and have not lost in the league since the opening day of the season.
