Two of Liverpool’s young prospects look set for moves to the Championship – with Kevin Stewart expected to move on a permanent basis to Hull City and Sheyi Ojo set to join Fulham on a loan deal.
Midfielder Stewart has reportedly flown home from the club’s pre-season trip to Hong Kong to complete a move to the KC Stadium.
The 23-year-old left the squad – currently in the Far East to compete in the Premier League Asia Trophy – to finalise the details of the move, the Press Association report.
Stewart made nine appearances for the Reds last season, which included just 16 minutes of playing time in the Premier League. He signed a five-year contract with Liverpool last November, but has found himself down the pecking order, and has seen interest from Premier League sides Stoke City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley before opting for Hull.
The deal is expected to cost the Tigers up to £8 million and is not believed to coincide with a deal between the clubs for left-back Andrew Robertson, who is expected to go in the opposite direction and join the Merseyside club for £10 million.
Following him to the Championship is team mate Ojo. The winger is expected to make the move to Craven Cottage on a season-long loan.
Many English clubs were reportedly following Ojo, with Newcastle and Middlesbrough both reportedly interested, but it appears that the Londoners have agreed a deal to take the player who has represented England at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 level on loan, according to Sky Sources.
Ojo, who has previously spent time on loan at Wigan and Wolves, made just two FA Cup appearances for Liverpool last season and did not feature in the Premier League.
