Liverpool to make late bid for Fernando Llorente – Thursday’s Rumour Round-up

Liverpool are planning a stunning late swoop to sign Atheltic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente provided they sell Andy Carroll. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is eager to sell England international with former club Newcastle heavily linked along with West Ham although it’s understood the 23-year-old prefers a return to St James’ Park.

Should he succeed in selling Carroll in the next 48 hours Rodgers will move to Llorente and is reportedly willing to match the £30 million release written into the Spain international’s contract at the San Mames. The Sun

Berba poised for Cottagers move – Dimitar Berbatov is close to leaving Manchester United to sign for Fulham after a move to Fiorentina was ruled out by the Italian club despite terms being agreed.
