Both these sides have ambitions for Premiership silverware in the summer, but it is Manual Pellegrini’s side which have made significant strides in recent months, winning eight games on the bounce including some devastating performances which has left a plethora of top quality teams in shell shock.

Big wins over Liverpool Arsenal and Tottenham has seen the Citizens shorten in price to take the 2013/2014 Premiership title and it would take foolish man to bet against them on current form. The return from injury of club captain Vincent Kompany has had a calming and reassuring influence on the squad, and although Sergio Aguero has been missing, and will be out for a further month, the strength of the City squad has resulted in normal service.

Eden Dzeko and Alvaro Negredo have ably stepped up to the responsibility up front, and with David Silva, Jesus Navas and the ever consistant Yaya Toure in midfield, there;s no doubt that Manchester City are playing some of their best football in recent years, and lets make no mistake, 7/2 is an outstanding price to take.

As for Chelsea, the Blues have made steady progress under Mourinho, but its still abundantly clear that there are continuing problems in front of goal, culminating in a frustrating 0-0 draw at home to West Ham last week. Fernando Torres remains on the sidelines and although Samuel Eto’o has shown glimpses of brilliance, its clear that the absence of a top striker will make the different win them tasking the title back to Stamford Bridge.

That said, Chelsea are still very much in contention for league honours and cannot be underestimated, having suffered only one defeat in the Premiership since early November. Indeed the price of 8/1 on the Blues to take the vital there points is one of the stand out bets of the season in terms of value, and its sure to see plenty of takers.

As was to be expected, Paddy Power have definitely thrown up something of a conundrum for punters with their enhanced odds offer, its simply up to you to decide on which is the better value – 7/2 on Manchester City or Chelsea to win at 8/1.

For us, Manchester City to win at home at 7/2 cannot be ignored, and its one that we’re taking a slice of.
