The struggling Cottagers have slipped to the Premier League basement on the back of a miserable season that includes just one win in their last 10 games.

That win came in their last outing at home to Newcastle with Ashkan Dejagah 68th minute goal ensuring that Fulham made the trip up North within touching distance of those around them.

The club have not won on the road since a 2-1 success over Norwich in December conceding six and three goals respectively in the defeats to Hull and Cardiff.

Dejagah and Dan Burn along with record signing Kostas Mitroglou and Scott Parker will all be missing for the game although manager Felix Magath revealed that the quartet would be available for the clash with Everton next weekend.

“At the moment, we have two players injured – Burn and Dejagah,” Magath said. “Both are missing with muscle problems however Lewis Holtby will be ready to make his comeback. Kostas [Mitroglou] has knee problems. I hope he will be ready next week. Scott may be back next week.”

The German also revealed that he intends to attack Manchester City on Saturday adding “If we can stop Manchester City scoring, then I think we can create chances to score ourselves”

“It’s my job to help the players and believe in their ability. I’m convinced they are better than they have been before. I hope the last game has given us more confidence. I don’t want the team to only defend against Man City, I want us to go forwards.”

City meanwhile will have benefitted from having a free week in the build up to the game and will be able to call upon the services of forward Stevan Jovetic.

The former Fiorentina man has resumed training after suffering a hamstring injury a month ago against Stoke but is back and could replace out of sorts Alvaro Negredo.

The Spanish striker has failed to score in nine game and with Sergio Aguero still out City have looked short up front.

Micah Richards is also back in training and is set to come into contention.
