Man City v West Brom odds: Back 12/1 Baggies to end Manchester hopes of Premiership title

Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion will meet at the Etihad tonight with both sides needing three points, with the 12/1 on the away win the stand out value bet.

A disastrous four days for City saw them drop four points against league leaders Liverpool and Sunderland, those setbacks coupled with other results meaning they will enter Monday’s clash nine points off the top.

WBA meanwhile are just 3 points and 2 places above the relegation zones and with those around them picking up points at the weekend the club will be keen to inflict further misery on City.

Despite making a slow start to life in England football, there have been signs in recent games that WBA manager Pep Mel is coming to terms with the tactical side of the Premiership.

After claiming just 7 points in their first 9 games under the Spaniard, the club are currently unbeaten in their last three games and while they have picked up just 5 points in that run, it could have been more but for last minute goals conceded in the 3-3 draws at both Cardiff and Tottenham.

There has been speculation that Mel could leave the club in the summer however his counterpart at Manchester City, Manuel Pellegrini has backed Mel to be a success in English football.

“I think he is a very good manager, and he worked very well in Spain.

“I am sure that here in England when he settles, he will be a very good manager also.

“He is a manager that wants his teams to play attractive football – he always tries to make it so that his team will play with a lot of possession of the ball and make a very offensive game.”

Mel’s only absentee ahead of the game is Zoltan Gera while James Morrison and Jonas Olsson are fit again and set to feature.

Manchester City meanwhile will be without key trio David Silva, Yaya Toure and Jesus Navas for the game while long-term absentee Matija Nastasic is also out.
