While the destination of the title appears very much to be on its way to Anfield, City defender Pablo Zabaleta has vowed that the club will continue fighting until the end of the season.

“We still have four games to go until the end,” said Zabaleta.

“It’s going to be tough, but we need to keep believing. We know in football that anything can happen.

“We have put pressure on Liverpool. We now need to wait for Liverpool to drop some points, which they can do in some games.

“We must move on to the next game and get three points at Crystal Palace.

“Nothing is over. In football, you know anything can happen.

“The most important thing is to keep working hard, keep doing everything possible until the end and then we will see.”

Palace meanwhile have been in superb form in recent months. The club had only four points on the table when Tony Pulis too charge in November however 39 points later the club are assured of their place in the Premier League next season.

Pulis is sweating on the fitness of Marouane Chamakh and Kagisho Dikgacoi for the game while City will be without David Silva and Jesus Navas for the game. Long term absentee Matija Nastasic is also once again missing with a knee injury.

“We have (David) Silva, Jesus Navas and (Matija) Nastasic out with injury – all of the other players are fit,” he said.

“David is working, improving. With Navas’ ankle, it’s the same. These three players are injured – we don’t know how much longer for David.

Judging by Pellegrini’s comments it would appear that the club are set to be boosted however by the return of influential midfielder Yaya Toure. The Ivorian international has missed the last two games with a muscle injury but is now fit to play.
