Massive price boost from Paddy Power
Paddy Power have announced they are ENHANCING the prices in the Merseyside derby – with Liverpool available at 4/1 (was 10/11) and Everton at 11/1! (was 10/3)! More details below!
Steve Bruce’s side have won one and drawn three of their opening five games to sit 10th on 6 points, ahead of the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Everton.
Their impressive start has not been without its problems however with the Tigers yet win in front of their own fans and conceding six goals in their last 3 games.
The inability to keep clean sheets is fast becoming a worry for Bruce with the former Wigan and Sunderland manager hoping to return to the form that saw the club boast the best defensive record in the bottom seven of last season’s Premier League.
“It’s a huge concern for me because it’s not like us,” he said.
“If you’ve seen us for the last two years, the ability to see a game through was there for everyone to see.
“Certainly in the Championship, once we got in front we never looked like surrendering it.
“It’s a bit baffling at the minute because it’s not going for us. We have to work harder, get through it and hope it’s just a bit of bad luck.”
With a fully fit defensive unit to call upon this weekend Bruce will hope that he can get the best out his defenders. The only absentee for Hull is David Meyler. The Irish international misses out with a back injury.
Manchester City for their part will be without Fernando (groin) and Stevan Jovetic (hamstring) but otherwise they have a fully fit squad to choose from.
Frank Lampard could feature after two goals in his last two games, including one in the 7-0 mid-week win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One cup while Eliaquim Mangala will hope to build on his impressive performance against Chelsea with another start on Saturday.
