Winner have announced they are offering 3/1 on Manchester City to beat CSKA Moscow tonight – The usual price is 1/4! – More details below!
The Manchester outfit are currently third in the group, two points behind second place Roma and seven points off leaders Bayern Munich after losing one and drawing two of their opening three games.
Despite their inability to claim the three points, the club let slip a two goal lead in Moscow last time out, manager Manuel Pellegrini believes his side can still not only qualify from the group but can go on to lift the trophy.
“There are teams that qualify with few points and then after that they won the Champions League. Of course our target is always to try and win the Champions League” the Chilean manager said.
“We must put in our mind that we are able to do it, that we have a good squad. Maybe there are also five or six squads better than our squad or the same level that also want to do it but with a winning mentality and an ambitious mind, you must always think you can do it. I think we have time to prove it.”
Pellegrini has every right to be in a positive frame of mind. The manager saw his side beat Manchester United 1-0 on Sunday to earn a fourth successive win over their rivals for the first time since 1970.
The win was achieved without their playmaker David Silva with the Spanish star set to once again be missing on Wednesday. Aleksandar Kolarov is also a major doubt after missing the Sunday’s derby when limping out of the warm-up however Frank Lampard is set to return after a leg injury.
CSKA meanwhile will be without injured Swede Rasmus Elm (stomach) and Kirill Panchenko (knee) for the game however Vitinho, Pontus Wernbloom and Alan Dzagoev are back after injury and suspension.
