Manchester City will be out to keep the pressure on top two, Arsenal and Watford, when they travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Saturday.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side picked up four points over Christmas as they beat Sunderland 4-1 and drew 0-0 with Leicester City.
Pick up 6/1 on Manchester City here:
The results mean they enter 2016, third in the standings, three points off the top and one ahead of fourth place Spurs.
Pellegrini will be without defender Vincent Kompany for the clash with the Hornets. The Belgian Captain is set to miss the next month after suffering a calf injury in the win over Sunderland on Boxing Day.
The absence of the defender will mean that Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi will have to contend with Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney.
The powerful forwards have scored 20 league goals and assisted 7 this season as they have fired the Hornets to 8th in the table.
The pair were unable to help their club to a win over Spurs last time despite Ighalo finding the net in a 2-1 defeat.
The loss ended a five game unbeaten run which had included a 3-0 win over Liverpool and a 2-2 draw away to Chelsea.
Nathan Ake will be missing for the club due to suspension following his red card against Spurs, with Jose Holebas likely to deputise.
Other than that, Watford will be at almost full-strength with long-term absentee’s Patrick Hoban and Joel Ekstrand still sidelined.
The Hornets have a poor recent record against Manchester City, losing their last three meetings. They lost 2-0 when they met earlier in the season and prior to that they went down 4-2 and 3-0 in back to back FA Cup meetings.
When they last at Vicarage Road in the Premier League they drew 1-1 with Tamas Priskin scoring late to secure a point.
