Rumours circulating in Portugal claim that Argentine playmaker, Nicolas Gaitan has been allowed by Benfica to discuss terms with English Premier League giants, Manchester United.
The left-footed playmaker has been a long term target of the Red Devils with former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson having scouted him on multiple occasions during his tenure at Old Trafford. And now, Louis van Gaal has also been very impressed with what he has seen from the player during his stay in Portugal and is keen on sealing a deal with a player who will bring an added dimension to the squad.
With Memphis Depay already signing with the club and Roberto Firmino set to complete a move to Old Trafford after the Copa America, the arrival of Gaitan will help the club focus on other long term targets including a goalkeeper with David de Gea set to join Real Madrid soon.
And with Nani also on the verge of leaving, it is clear that Gaitan would prove to be a valuable addition to the squad.
