David Moyes was axed before he could sign Paul Pogba

European football expert, Gerry Armstrong claims that former Manchester United manager, David Moyes was axed by the club owners just days before he was about to make a breakthrough in a bid to bring France international, Paul Pogba back to the club he had left for Juventus on a free transfer a few years back.

The midfielder is one of the most coveted young players in the world at the moment with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City all keen on acquiring his signature.

And during his ill fated stay at Old Trafford, Moyes was very close to securing Pogba’s return to the club but was fired days before he was going to make a huge breakthrough in negotiations with the player’s camp.

Armstrong wrote on Kicca: “Everybody is talking about Paul Pogba at the moment.

“He seems to be one of the top transfer targets in Europe and there are reports he could be going back to Manchester, but to City this time.

“I know for a fact that David Moyes tried to bring him back to Manchester United just before he was let go by the club.|
