United to make Madrid break bank

According to reports, Manchester United have informed Real Madrid that if they really want to acquire the services of David De Gea, they will have to break the transfer fee record paid for a goalkeeper. The Spanish international is really keen to sign for the Spanish giants but knows that he can only move there if the club pays United around 40 million euros for his transfer.

Moreover, the Red Devils do not want to use De Gea as bait in order to land the signature of Sergio Ramos who is clearly unhappy at the club and wants to play under Louis van Gaal.

But with Real Madrid desperate to sign De Gea this summer as a long term replacement for Iker Casillas, it could be possible that the team pays United what they feel is the fair market value for their current number 1 and enough for them to bring Hugo Lloris to Old Trafford.
