Manchester United’s winger Angel Di Maria has landed at Doha in Qatar to complete his medical for the French champions.
Louis Van Gaal lured the Argentine winger to Old Trafford just a year back from Real Madrid for a British record £59.7m fee. Di Maria began his Manchester United career quite brilliantly, notching up three goals and four assists in his opening six matches. However, as the season progressed, his form declined at an alarmingly high pace which raised many eyebrows for his hefty price tag.
Now, the 27-year-old Argentina international exits United for PSG for a fee reported to be around £44.5m, costing Van Gaal a £15m loss. He is expected to complete his medical within 24 hours for the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
The move also means that the Red Devils could be set to close in on Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan who is seen as a great replacement to his fellow countryman.
