Tottenham hero Brad Friedel insists that the French goalkeeper will stay at White Hart Lane, despite persistent rumors linking him with a move to Old Trafford .
The 28-year-old France international, who is linked with Red Devils as a successor to David de Gea, flashed in headlines in June when he was quoted saying that he wants to play Champions League football.
Van Gaal was also reported to be interested in luring the Frenchman to Manchester United with De Gea’s departure to Real Madrid. The 44-old former-American goalkeeper, however, declared that Lloris will start in Saturday’s Man Utd vs. Tottenham clash, wearing the London club’s robes.
“For me, personally, I don’t foresee that transfer even remotely starting up,” he spoke to the English media.
“Hugo is a Tottenham player, he is the Tottenham captain and he will be a Tottenham player and I don’t see that changing. I don’t even think we need to discuss that possibility and I mean that sincerely.”
