Louis Van Gaal has reportedly snatched the Spanish star Pedro Rodriguez from the clutches of the Catalan club;
The Barcelona forward won’t be leaving Camp Nou until after their European Super Cup match against Seville.
Latest reports from Spanish media claim that Red Devils will pay £22m for the 28-year-old Spanish international’s signature. Pedro is expected to replace Angel Di Maria at Old Trafford, with the latter on the brink of joining French champions Paris-Saint Germain. Plus,Van Gaal has offered Pedro his first choice forward role along with the Dutchman Memphis Depay and skipper Wayne Rooney.
Pedro donned Barcelona colours for the first time in 2004 when he joined the Catalan club’s youth ranks. Since then, he has played an integral role for the club and played a crucial part in the club’s successful run under former boss Pep Guardiola. However, he fell out of Enrique’s favour when Luis Suarez joined Barcelona, and the deadly MSN formed.
Speculations suggest that his arrival at Old Trafford will also clear exit doors for the Belgian winger Adnan Januzaj and Mexican International Javier Hernandez, who are linked with a number of Premier League clubs.
