The Dutchman has dropped Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea from his pecking order for tomorrow’s season opener against Tottenham.
The former Atletico Madrid man will not be included in Red Devils squad as coach Louis Van Gaal believes that the issues surrounding his move to Real Madrid has affected him. The Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero will replace David De Gea between the sticks in Tottenham clash on Saturday.
“De Gea will not play,” said Van Gaal. “A player is also a human being. He cannot manage that. We will have to see who starts.”
“I don’t know the solution with De Gea, that is the process. Still you repeat the question,” he added.
“I cannot lead this process, I can only watch and observe and that is what I’m doing. I’m not participating in it.”
La Liga giants Real Madrid are still keen to acquire Spaniard’s signature, with speculations suggesting that Rafa Benitez will seal De Gea’s deal before transfer window closes in September.
