Reds find redemption at Britannia stadium

Coutinho’s stunning golazo ensured Liverpool clinch three points in the season opener.

The Merseyside club start their Premier League campaign in great fashion as Liverpool beat Stoke City 1-0 in away fixture. Both sides were tied 0-0 until the Brazilian magician Coutinho broke the deadlock by unleashing a super strike from 35 yards at the 87th minute.

Liverpool made some few lapses in the opening half of the game but Coutinho provided them the stablity and confidence to steal 3 points from Stoke City.  Reds Skipper Jordan Hendereson was happy with the his side’s performance as he talked to media after match.

”We knew it would be difficult because it’s a hard place and a good team. But I thought we’ve worked really well pre-season on the training field and in the games and I think today we showed resilience and Philippe showed a bit of magic to get the win.

“We always have the belief coming forward that we can create one or two chances by the end of the game because we’ve got that much quality so as long as we stay solid at the back then we’ve got a chance and thankfully we did.”

Liverpool will now meet Premier League minnows Bournemouth  on 18th August.

“Obviously we’ve tried to put the last game here to bed and it’s a new season and a new start and at the back of our minds now that’s gone. We’ve put it to bed and we move on to this season. But it’s important we don’t get carried away because it’s one game and one win and we have to keep working hard.”
