Manchester United raises stakes in the acquisition of John Stones

Premier League outfit Manchester United are planning to up the ante on the acquisition of Everton’s defender John Stones. The 21-year-old has piqued the interest of both United and current Premier League Champions Chelsea.

Both Red Devils and Blues have shown keen interest in youngster for some time now. Jose Mourinho sees confident in striking the deal with Everton but the response so far from Goodison Park has been less than satisfactory.

On the other hand, Old Trafford has an ace up their sleeve. Manager Louis Van Gaal is willing to send Jonny Evans along with some cash to Walton, should they choose to accept. Everton might not be able to turn their left cheek on this offer. They have already shown interest in the 27-year-old defender.

This might as well end Chelsea’s dream of making Stamford bridge Stones’ new home where the team captain John Terry openly said how players like Stones represent the future of the club.
