Louis Van Gaal has been busy giving and receiving Spaniards this season. In recent news, the former Dutch midfielder has shown interest in FC Barcelona’s striker Pedro and moves have been made to confirm him as a part of Machester United’s squad.
Barcelona has been playing hard to get for some time now and the contract terms to sign Pedro is still in the works. The Spanish international has a £22m release clause in his contract that United are happy to pay. However, Barcelona has been lingering the situation on.
In a recent move to delay the potential buy from Old Trafford, the striker has been included in the playing XI for the club in their Spanish Super Cup clash against Athletico Bilbao.
Back in England the Dutch has become a man of fewer words on this situation. “You have to ask Pedro, not me,” he said. “My answer is it’s a process – a club, a player and we are there also.
“I don’t mention anything to you until he has signed. Then I come to you and say ‘Pedro is here’. But it’s still not the case and we shall wait and see.”
