United planning to back out on Otamendi deal, interested in Stones

Premier League outfit Manchester United have now cooled themselves down on Nicolas Otamendi as they point their financial guns on Everton defender John Stones.

The Argentinian center back had been a subject of interest at Old Trafford but since Stones’ potential move away from Everton has hit the news, the Valencia defender has gone in the back drop.

Jose Mourinho has been keen in getting Stones on Chelsea’s payroll but Everton’s response has been unsatisfactory. The two bids that were made from Stamford Bridge have been unsuccessful.

United have more or less given up on Valencia signing which paves way for Manchester City, who seem keen in bringing Otamendi to Etihaad Stadium.

Louis Van Gaal seems to have shown his interest in Jose Mourinho’s choice this summer and plans to derail their possible attempt to sign Stones. Chelsea seem confident to bring him to Stamford Bridge but Van Gaal will not let Mourniho have it their way. On the other hand Everton seem to be on firm ground in keeping the 21-year-old at Goodison Park.
