United hopes over as Ramos signs new contract

Manchester United’s dream of hiring a top-notch centre-back have been washed out as Sergio Ramos inked a new five-year contract with his club Real Madrid.

The Spaniard had been linked with the Red Devils all summer transfer window and the England-based outfit was looking to have him as an exchange for their goalie David De Gea. The United’s number has reportedly said to the management that he does not want to play for the club anymore. The 24-year-old has been left out of the first squad ever since.

The Red Devils’ boss Louis Van Gaal had high hopes for the Los Blancos centre-back as he has been sniffing throughout the summer window for a top class defender. Although both Manchester-based clubs are also looking for the same John Stones of Everton FC along with current Premier League Champions Chelsea, the chances of that panning out in favour of United are slim.
