Manchester City are reportedly on a verge of signing Manchester United target Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia after the Spanish side accepted Manchester City’s 45 million Euro bid
The bulky defender had been linked with Manchester City’s cross city rivals Manchester United but the refusal of the Reds to meet Valencia’s asking price for the player put City in the pole position to get their player.
Otamendi although has a release clause of 50 million Euros but super-agent Jorge Mendes made sure that Manchester City get their man for a slightly less price. The Citizens are already looking like a formidable side after they thrashed reigning champions, Chelsea, 3-0 at Etihad last week and the addition of a player like Otamendi will only make them better.
The Argentina international was one of the best players for his country in Copa America where Argentina went all the way to the final.
