Manchester United have been hunting a central defender all summer long and were heavily linked with one of the best in the business in the form of Sergio Ramos.
However, the Real Madrid player has now put pen to paper on a new deal with the Spanish giants leaving Manchester United frustrated and betrayed.
And now the English club has decided to pull the plug on their pursuit of a highly rated central defender this summer as they feel that they are well covered in the department and there are not many players out there who can match the quality of Sergio Ramos.
The Spain international was reportedly heading out of the door at Santiago Bernabeu but has now put pen to paper on a new five year deal with the club. Departure of club captain Iker Casillas also played a role in the whole saga as Real Madrid announced Sergio Ramos as their new club captain in a move to keep him at the club.
