Manchester United were left stripped off the summer signing of Pedro Rodriguez yesterday when their title rivals Chelsea FC fiddled in and stole it. Rumour has it that Pedro’s wife was involved in the whole scheme.
When United Vice Chairman Ed Woodward flew to Spain to seal the deal with Barcelona, sinister plots were afoot at the north-London club. Pedro’s longtime friend and compatriot Cesc Fabregas approached boss Jose Mourinho for a possibility of landing him at Stamford Bridge.
Fabregas’s girlfriend Daniella Semaan remains a good friend with Pedro’s wife Carolina Martin and the Spanish international thought it would be a good idea to involve the ladies of the houses to force Pedro to come to London instead of Manchester.
Despite the arrival of Red Devils’ Woodward at Camp Nou, the 28-year-old was in London for a medical exam because Martin talked him into moving to Chelsea.
Mourinho will be glad to bring the forward at Stamford Bridge as at payback to Manchester United for derailing the Blues’ John Stones deal.
