This has not been a good week for Manchester United, none of their efforts have materialised. First Sergio Ramos attempt goes to waste, then Pedro moves to Chelsea and now Nicolas Otamendi has inked a contract with Manchester City.
Since the summer transfer window started, the Red Devils have been linked with possibility of securing the signatures of Otamendi, Pedro and Ramos while their number one was rumoured to move to Real Madrid in a deal for Ramos.
None has happened in their favour however. Ramos kept every offer at bay and signed a new three-year deal with Los Blancos. United boss Louis Van Gaal’s dreams of bringing depth in the defence were broken to pieces.
The next major blow came in the shape of Pedro yesterday when the Spaniard landed in London instead of Manchester for a medical exam before signing a new contract with the current Premier League champions Chelsea.
The new sun came with another bad news when bugles were sounded across the road on Otamendi’s signature with the Sky Blues. A good midfielder from Valencia was lost to the rivals, leaving the Red Devils furious over the lost trio.
