United now interested in Griezmann after shunned Pedro deal

After their deal for FC Barcelona star being stolen by the current Premier League champions, Manchester United are planning to return the favour by bidding for Antoine Griezmann.

The Frenchman has been linked with the Blues over the course of the off-season but boss Jose Mourinho put a pin on the option because of the £56m release clause. Still it is an option for the Blues in the attack.

United manager Louis Van Gaal now makes the France international his new target even though he has a hefty release clause in his contract that Griezmann’s club Athletico Madrid put in to fend off their Madrid rivals.

United’s done deal on Pedro was recently stolen right from their hands when Mourinho intruded from London. This has left Red Devils’ fans in awe after not being able to see either Sergio Ramos or Nicolas Otamendi at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal might be looking to strengthen the attack with the Frenchman but deep down it is a retaliation to what the Blues have done to their Pedro transaction.
