Gary Neville claims that the Manchester United shouldn’t let Hernandez leave

Gary Neville insists Manchester United cannot let Javier Hernandez leave the club without signing a replacement before the transfer deadline.

There were reports on Sunday that the Mexican striker has been told he can leave Old Trafford.

But Neville believes United are in no position to sell Hernandez with the 27-year-old one of just three recognised strikers at the club with Wayne Rooney and James Wilson.

He said: “The goalscoring is not what you expect from Manchester United.

“You can’t go into the season with just one striker. There’s talk of Javier Hernandez leaving, or being allowed to leave.

“You can’t see that happening without someone else coming in.”

Louis Van Gaal has not been very fond of the Mexican as he was first loaned out and now has been told that he can leave the club if he wishes to. He will be the fourth striker to leave under the Dutchman, if he chooses to leave.
